A Brief History

In 2013, Historic Newburgh, Inc. reintroduced locally produced theater with its presentation of Alfred Hitchcock: the Unexplained. Received with great enthusiasm by their audience, they returned in 2014 with Murder at the Orient Express and in 2015 with Murders in the Heirs. By now, it was apparent that Newburgh had the talent and the desire for theater, so in December 2015, a group of HNI thespians formed NCTL as a 501c3 organization to promote performing arts in Newburgh.

Our inaugural production was Neil Simon’s Fools in fall 2016.  Since then we have proudly presented various genres and formats: I’m Getting Murdered in the Morning not-quite-dinner theater, Dearly Departed comedy-drama, Four Weddings and an Elvis not-quite-dinner comedy theater, Deathtrap intimate suspense theater, Funny Money farcical theater, You Have the Right To Remain Dead murder mystery dinner theater, Love, Sex, and the IRS comedy dinner theater, and Occupation:Murder! murder mystery comedy dinner theater.
